Eoin Colfer – The Eoin Colfer Tour Bus!

To mark the publication of the new title in the series, Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox, the celebrated author and stand-up performer Eoin Colfer is taking his live show on tour throughout the US this summer! Eoin Colfer gives audiences a hilarious insight into the inspiration for the teenage criminal mastermind, Artemis Fowl: “The ex-teacher’s lesson is the frothy tale of his childhood and his mischievous siblings, illustrated by beautifully evocative photographs . . . our amiable, pixie-like host is never dull.” (Evening Standard, Four Stars). The tour will also give Artemis’ legion of fans an opportunity to meet the author and have their newly published copies of Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox personally signed.

Luna Philosphie presents “Will an Asteroid Hit the Earth?” with Rusty Schweickart, Apollo 9 Astronaut, of the Association of Space Explorers (ASE). Rusty will give a presentation about the threat of “Near Earth Objects (NEO).” Rusty is the chair of the ASE’s Standing Committee on NEOs which works on both international policy for the decision process of how to handle a potential impact as well as the technology for how to prevent an impact. After a presentation by Rusty there will be open discussion about the policy decision process and technical challenges of preventing potential impacts from NEOs.

A San Francisco Public Library Sponsored Public Program

Author Michelle Tea returns to host another monthly salon with special guests Daniel Handler and Robert Mailer Anderson. Handler is the author of Adverbs, The Basic Eight and Watch Your Mouth. Anderson is the author of the 2001 novel Boonville, and co-writer, producer and actor in the punkability horror film Pig Hunt.
