Extra Reading Reminder – Sawyer & Swirsky

June 20th, 2012 · No Comments

Here’s a quick reminder that we have an extra reading for you this month. On Thursday evening (June 21st) we will be presenting Robert J. Sawyer and Rachel Swirsky.

Robert J. Sawyer is well-known to discerning readers of quality science fiction. His recent work includes the adaptation of his novel FlashForward into an ABC tv series, but he also has had over 21 novels published (with a new one, Triggers, available at SF in SF), and is a staunch advocate for Canadian literature. Rachel Swirsky is, quite simply, one of the best short fiction authors writing today, with a 2010 Nebula Award for her novella, “The Lady Who Plucked Red Flowers Beneath the Queen’s Window.”

6:00PM – doors and cash bar open
7:00PM – event starts
Seating is limited, and is first come, first seated.
$5-$10 suggested donation at the door. All SF in SF events are held as fundraisers for Variety Children’s Charity of Northern California – to date, we’ve helped raise over $30,000 for the kids in our community!

Each author will read a selection from their work, followed by a Q & A session with the audience, moderated by author Terry Bisson. Booksigning and schmoozing in the lounge follows. Books for sale courtesy of Borderlands Books.

Please feel free to bring books from home for signing; if you have more than 3 books for one author, please be courteous and allow those with less to get their books signed first.
