The Fantastic Mr. Fox (87 mins. – animated)
Based on the book by Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James & The Giant Peach, etc.), this funny, smart film stars the voice talents of George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, and Jason Schwartzman, among other. Using a variety of animation techniques, primarily stop-motion, the film relates the wild tale of Mr. Fox, sure he can make that one last score, his wife (the brain behind the brain) and their batty, dysfunctional family we can all identify with. Hijinks ensure – this is one wild, funny, fantastic ride. The superhero antics of the son are worth the price of admission alone!

9 (79 mins – animated)
A visually stunning film, with great action sequences, and convincing characters, 9 is a must-see for those that like their films as much as roller-coaster rides. The simple story of a rag doll that escapes a war that ends the world as we know it, “9” and a band of fellow survivors attempt to make their way through the post-apocalyptic landscape only to run up against a larger enemy, determined to change and put an end to them. I’ve heard it described as “Terminator meets the War of the Worlds meets Wall-E.” While PG-13, some of the action might be a bit intense for kids; but it’s an original and gripping film, beautifully crafted and designed, and a real treat for science fiction fans.
